May 30 & 31 - fine day fair garden show, south salem, ny.
After many quiet months, i will be returning to the fairs this spring.
It will be my first season back since Paul’s passing, and my first time arriving without him beside me. For many years we travelled this road together - gathering object, friendships, stories, and a shared way of seeing that slowly became our life.
The fairs were never simply work for us. The were our way of living together in the world. Some of our happiest years unfolded through these journeys - early mornngs on the road, long tables of found treasures, and the deep pleasure of sharing them with so many of you.
Returning this spring feels like opening a familiar door again.
Paul and I built this world slowly, over many years, and the spirit of those days still lives quietly inside it - in the objects we chose, the conversations we shared, and the friendships that grew along the way.
I hope these fairs will be moments of warmth and connection. A chance to see old friends again, to share beauty, and to hold the happiness that shaped so much of our life together.
These coming seasons will also mark the final chapter of the marston house in the united states. i plan to continue attending fairs through 2026, and then slowly bring this part of the journey to its close.
So these next fairs feel less like an ending, and more like a gathering - a chance to mark the many beautiful years paul and i spent discovering and sharing treasures together.
