Two Bedroom Apartment in Apt
In a newly restored and subdivided 17th century grand home in the historic center of the town of Apt, we have a two bedroom, two bath, two story, sun filled, bright, south facing apartment redesigned in the spirit of the ancient house in which it is located. This two story apartment is not recommended for children less then ten years old or adults with difficulties climbing stairs or difficulties with heights.
The design blends a respect for the historic structure and contemporary sensibility. The furnishings are antiques found in southern France, bed linens are the finest linens and cottons. The apartment has a wood burning fireplace, a new electrical, plumbing and heating system with new appliances and bathroom fixtures. This two story apartment is approximately 900 square feet.
Spend time in the old town where everything; parking, shops, markets, cafes and restaurants, museums, the cinema, butchers and bakers etc. is accessible on foot. The old and large Saturday market in the town center is incredible.
This is a also a perfect landscape for bicycling with easy to challenging trails, roadways and hills. The old railway bed has been made accessible for miles of incredible biking. The hills of the neighboring villages add to the challenge.

Reviews From Some Of Our Guests:
Incredibly located in the centre of Provence
Overall, we found that the apartment contained everything that we needed and, being there for a full month, we made good use of the washer/spinner machine.
The master bedroom is perfect for a wonderful night's sleep and we loved to leave the window open in that room to enjoy the fresh evening breeze.
The propane range and oven are a treat to use.
We enjoyed the design and uniqueness of the apartment and often marveled at the engineering and design work that went into creating the winding staircase to the second level.
Given our tendency to play hard during the day and then "crash" in the evening to read and relax, we did find that the seating in the living room area did not accommodate our comfort needs, particularly over an extended period of a month.
For our purposes; that is, to explore the villages in the Luberon Valley, the location in Apt was perfect.
We were centrally located and everything we needed on a day to day basis was to be found in Apt.
A favorite pastime in the morning was to watch the action in the square below the kitchen window as the kids gathered for their pre-school social gabfest.
Sharon and Paul, all in all, it was a fantastic holiday in Provence .... the stuff that makes for wonderful memories.

Vive la Provence
Thank you Sharon and Paul. Sorry it took so long to write this. I have to mention Sharon and Paul were so accommodating as we originally booked their other one bedroom apartment in the same building. But a last minute change of plan due to some medical issue of one of our daughter. We had to change dates and they worked with us and actually were able to give us the two bedroom that we originally desired.
The apartment is fabulous. A very provincial decoration. We get to experience way of life as the neighbors are very close by, that you can see when your windows are open. One neighbor directly across have late diner(after 10PM) most nights in the court yard. In summer time, everyone have their windows open. Exactly the way I wanted to spend a week in provence. We had some great views of the hill afar. The provincial roof tops that you see in pictures. The great Apt market on Saturdays. A great boulongiere steps from the apartment that opens at 7AM. I'm a early riser. Lots of shops nearby. We did some cooking. But ate out a lot. We been to Provence every year for over ten years now. So we know all the sight seeing. And Apt is quite a good place to be base. The place is near direction Avignon and direction Aix, with all the beautiful towns in between.
We won't hesitate to come back to Sharon and Paul's apartment in the future. Thanks again.

The perfect base from which to explore
After multiple stays at this location we are convinced it is the perfect way to travel. The apartment is spectacularly and simply decorated and provides absolute calm after a long day of touring, shopping, antiquing and exploring. The location is perfect within Apt with plenty of easy parking on a quiet square with plenty of butchers, pastry shops and bakeries around each corner. Apt is centrally located amongst some of the most beautiful small Provincial towns you will ever see.
The materials used in this apartment are the very best quality. Interesting antique furniture, a working fireplace, tall windows that let the light pour in, but also a modern sensibility. There is everything one might need and a pile of books in case you find yourself needing something to read.
There is practically a market everyday in Provence, and having a kitchen to bring things back just really allows you to connect in a more complete way with the culture.
The comfort level of the beds is extremely high with high quality linens and pillows and super thick walls, the bedrooms fall silent in the evening and we always sleep like rocks!
Provence is famous for its natural beauty and we have been fortunate enough to visit on many occasions. The owners of this property have created an oasis of calm and, we believe, the perfect base from which to explore the area.
One of the most important things we can say is that the apartment becomes home when we are there...we have gotten very attached to the apartment each time we have stayed. It is perfection and we cannot wait to return!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Bon Vacance!
"Hidden Gem in the Heart of Provence"
Three of us stayed a week in this wonderful apartment, overlooking a plaza in the small, ancient market town of Apt, France. The owners met us upon arrival to help us settle in and provide helpful hints for exploring the region. They had even left behind fresh bread and cheese from the local markets. The apartment is the perfect balance of comfort and style; French antique furniture, white-washed plaster walls, modern appliances, comfortable French linens, clear bright sunlight, and each room with a view. We spent each day exploring a different market town, returning home early in the evening to make dinner and hang out by the fire, engaging show-and-tell, reading and telling stories. It really did feel like our home. We look forward to future stays in this incredible apartment, and love spreading the word to our friends.
