FRANCE | 1879

Last winter, we stumbled upon an expansive 19th century collection of French botanical pressings. Each specimen is so thoughtfully displayed and mounted and hand inked in French with the Latin scientific names. Dated 1879, this Chenopodium Bonus-henricus has been grown as a vegetable in cottage gardens for hundreds of years. It is in the botanical family Amaranthaceae and is commonly known as the Poor-man's Asparagus. This specimen is unframed and will arrive flat packed, but deserves framing for proper archiving and display.
