175.00

England | c. 1840

Made primarily in Birmingham, England between 1780 - 1860, the hogscraper candlestick was handmade of sheet iron with silver soldering and had a distinct and simple “eject” feature that made these sticks highly functional. A thumb tab mechanism added to the shaft of the stick functioned to remove the residual candle stub and extend the use of each candle. Also featured on this particular candlestick is a "bobeche", or the round lip that collects drippings, as well as a hook attached to for hanging.

Base is 4” in diameter and stands 7.25” high
